Seed Saver Class is FULL

Seed Saver Class: September 4, 2025 6-8pm

The Conservancy, in partnership with Grow Local Colorado, is excited to bring our first seed saver class to Civic Center on September 4, 6-8pm.

This will be an informal, hands-on class highlighting the abundance of seed, how and what’s available to collect (we can select a few examples of easy to collect seeds–veg or flower or both), how seed saving has significance to cultures in the world, our health and wellbeing. The park is a great place to gather and engage in this very human activity of seed collecting. We’re surrounded by plants!

Participants will explore the gardens, learn when the time is right to collect seeds, an overview on seed processing, and take away a piece of the park for their own gardens.

Why do we save seeds? We’ll discuss that as well. Seeds are saved to preserve biodiversity, for nourishment, to preserve cultural memories, for ritual, to create beauty, to uphold healthy ecosystems and food for other lives that we share this earth with.

A special thank you to City Beautiful and Cultivators Collective, two key donor programs that make the Conservancy’s work possible. Through their generous support we are able to plan more small garden-focused activities.

REGISTRATION IS CLOSED FOR SEED SAVER CLASS.

Here are some details about the seed saver class if you have already RSVP’d:

Forms – Thank you for pre-registering. Your sign up included our mandatory waiver.

Food and Drinks – The Conservancy will provide a snacks and water for all participants.

Parking – There is street parking along 14th Ave, and Broadway, as well as parking inside the Denver Post building. You can enter at the Broadway or the Cleveland entrances.  Please do not to park in any management, reserved or tandem parking spaces.

The Denver Post Parking Garage is a secured building so follow these steps to exit and enter the garage.

After parking, take the elevator (located at the center of the garage) to the lobby and exit through the main doors (Cheyanne exit). When returning, you’ll need to use the buzzer located on a small stand just a few feet from the door at that same entrance to gain access. Security is on site 24/7, so there will always be someone there to buzz you into the garage.

Tools and Gloves – The  Conservancy and Grow Local will provide scissors, gloves, pens, and small paper packets for seeds. If you would prefer not to share gloves, please bring your own.
