Civic Center WORKS
This is the Conservancy’s workforce development program that employs unhoused individuals to clean and maintain the park. These stellar crews are often the reason why Civic Center is clean, safe, and beautiful.
In 2026, we’re expanding the WORKS program into EATS to provide second-chance employees opportunities in hospitality and custodial work.
WORKS Works!
Civic Center’s workforce development program, WORKS, continued making a profound impact in 2025, employing 18 individuals transitioning into homes, bringing the total impact to 135 participants who have contributed to meaningful maintenance and beautification of Civic Center Park over the past four years.Â
With support for VF Foundation, this initiative not only enhanced the Park’s beauty but also empowered participants with valuable skills and a sense of purpose and resulted in 44% finding permanent job placement at the closing of their season in the park.
Youth WORKS brings beats to EATS
In its third year, the Conservancy’s partnership with Youth Employment Academy and Youth on Record proved successful as the Youth WORKS program increased to 33 young participants. On-the-job training in event logistics, customer and custodial services gave youth who completed the program more experience as they enter the workforce.Â
In 2026, Youth on Record will continue to provide Civic Center EATS with entertainment as they engage the youth in learning how to book, produce, and perform in public spaces. Support from Bank of America was paramount in the Conservancy’s advocating for Denver communities through our youth workforce programs.
