Celebrate community, culture, and coziness at Holidays in Civic Center! This year marks the third year of unifying Denver’s Christkindlmarket, the Mile High Tree and the City & County Building Lights in the heart of Denver in Civic Center Park.

The Mile High Tree

The Mile High Tree’s breathtaking 110-foot display returns to Civic Center Park, with a special lighting ceremony on November 22 at 5:15 PM. From that evening through December 31, enjoy nightly light shows synchronized to festive music, creating a magical atmosphere each night.

    • Every 15 minutes from 5 pm – 10 pm
  • New Year’s Eve Special: Countdown shows at 9 pm & midnight on December 31

Light the Lights

Light the Lights 2024 is Denver’s annual holiday kickoff event, bringing the community together for an evening of music, lights, and celebration.

The event will be hosted by Denver7 anchor Micah Smith, and features performances by the Denver Gay Men’s Chorus, special appearances by Denver’s beloved mascots, and a dazzling light and music show at the City and County Building.

The light and music show repeats nightly from November 27 – January 26 at 5:45 PM and 6:45 PM, except for Monday nights, December 7 (Parade of Lights) and December 21 (annual memorial vigil honoring persons experiencing homelessness). 

Holiday Lights in Civic Center

Holiday Lights in Civic Center include several holiday activations all within the 12 acres of Civic Center. The Great Lawn Holiday lights are produced by Civic Center Conservancy and provide an extra sparkle to the nearby green space. We’re so happy to have you in the park!

Tiny Tots: Christmas – Inside the Orchestra

Round up the kids and bring them over to the McNichols Building on December 10th! Families will enjoy their favorite holiday music along with the orchestra and special guests. More dates to be announced!

Denver Christkindlmarket
Presented by Bank of America and United Airlines

Come down to the Park starting November 22, for the return of the Denver Christkindlmarket, presented by the German American Chamber of Commerce. The authentic, German-style holiday market plays host to local and European craft and food vendors, and tons of magical entertainment for everyone to enjoy. The Denver Christkindlmarket is a must-see (and must-taste!) holiday experience.

Free and open to the public through December 23.

9NEWS Parade of Lights

Saturday, Dec 7, 2024
Starts at 6 pm at Denver’s City and County Building

Celebrating its 50th year, the 9NEWS Parade of Lights, proudly produced by the Downtown Denver Partnership, will bring thousands of people Downtown on December 7 to experience this magical tradition.

The parade will feature 40+ floats, giant balloons, marching bands, equestrian units, cultural displays and special guest appearances from Major Waddles the Penguin, and Santa!

Arriving at the Event

  • The park will be fenced to ensure the safety of attendees.

  • Entrances will be located near 14th Ave and Bannock Street, and on Broadway between 14th Ave. and Colfax.
